I haven't been at Squidoo long, but I absolutely love the community spirit there. That is something that the Internet has been lacking for sometime, despite all of the social networking hoopla. Even the most popular social networking sites just feel like they lack that special spirit.
You see, I believe that the spirit of the Internet is people helping people by sharing information - without cost. That's the way that it started, and that's the way it should continue. Somewhere a long the way, we lost that.
While Squidoo is monitized, and many people do join the site in an effort to earn money (which is perfectly acceptable in the way that it is done), it also has a broader purpose. It brings people together, for the purpose of sharing valuable information, for free. In the process, it also helps those people to bring relevant sites of interest together, making it possible to get the information that you are looking for, without having to wade through piles and piles of spammish bull.
Congratulations, Squidoo, on recapturing the Spirit of the Internet.

Twitter and Squidoo...A Match Made In Heaven?
When I was surfing around inside of my Squidoo dashboard, I noticed that there was a way to incorporate Twitter with my Squidoo lenses...at least I think that was what it was. You see, I'm Twitter illiterate. I know what it is, kind of, but I've never really paid much attention to it.
I did find this blog post, with nice, clear instructions concerning how Twitter and Squidoo work together, so at least if I decide to give Twitter a try, I'll know how to do this - and I even know why to do it.
Please understand, as computer/Internet literate as I am, the whole Web 2.0 social networking thing is still rather new to me. Some of us old dogs have a harder time learning those new tricks...but I'm definitely trying.

I'm A Squidoo Addict
I love Squidoo. I've just recently discovered it, and I can't seem to get enough of it. Luckily, I work from home, as a freelance writer, and I'm able to login and check on things through my Squidoo dashboard several time throughout the day...of course, this could be a bad thing.
So far, in just two days, I've made two lenses, and they seem to be doing fairly well. The first one is Power Blogging, and the second is How to Break Into Freelance Writing Fast. These are two topics that are important to me, and of which I happen to know a great deal about...which is what Squidoo is all about.
I love Squidoo so much that I decided to start this blog in an effort to cover all things Squidoo. I'm still learning, but as I learn, I'm ready and willing to share with anyone who cares to read...so stay tuned as I run off to create yet another lens, and this one will be about The Law of Attraction.
